Everyone except CEO’s and politicians seem to be pinched these days for money. I learned a long time ago that one of the easiest ways to save money at the grocery store is to buy meats that have had as little butchering as possible. In some cases this isn’t going to be practical*, but when it comes to smaller animals… mainly poultry… you can do a lot yourself.
Some may be scared, but don’t be. Have a clean work area and then clean it and yourself well afterwards. Make sure you have a good, sharp knife as well. Dull knives aren’t safe (you will slip and cut yourself).
Here is a good how-to video on butchering a chicken. With a little practice, you’ll be a regular ol’ Colonel Sanders.
